Western centreing around a young man called William Blake (who has never heard of the poet of the same name) who travels West with the promise of a job at a steelworks. When he arrives, however, he finds the post already taken. After a brief affair and a duel with the woman's former lover, he has to escape the city. Dying from a serious wound he meets up with a Native American called Nobody (he does know the poet William Blake and quotes from him). Nobody accompanies him as he goes on the run from bounty hunters.
