Cornwall, Land of the Saints (1987)

Film details


An Easter edition of Highway, in which Harry Secombe follows a Cornish path, the Saints Way, from Padstow to Fowey, in the footsteps of the early Celtic saints. He visits Pencarrow, the house in which Arthur Sullivan wrote Iolanthe; and St Endellion Church, to commemorate the work of John Betjeman. Members of the Shiva Theatre Company perform the ancient Cornish saints' play Meryasek. Music is provided by the Treviscoe Male Voice Choir, and the St Austell Band.
