Synopsis

Set in Bab-el-Oued, a working class district of Algiers, soon after the October 1988 riots. Boualem, a young worker in a local bakery commits a "foolish" act one day. This jeopardises the area and a group of young extremists headed by Saïd set out to punish the culprit. Violence erupts and develops when Saïd's sister Yamina is caught meeting Boualem, with whom she is secretly in love.
