Synopsis

Sir John Harvey-Jones visits Norton Motors, who, despite numerous incarnations and management changes have managed to survive. Armed with a unique product in the form of the lightweight and versatile Wankel rotary engine, the company is staging a successful comeback on the motor cycle racing track and have big plans for their new motorcycles. Sir John believes the company has set itself an unrealistic task and suggests that there is only one option to ensure its survival. The video and support literature look at: evaluating business performance; identifying core competencies; strategy; planning realistically; and management buyouts.
