Synopsis

A conflict has hit the small Spanish mining village in which the young boy Miguel lives. Three miners have died in an accident and the other miners have gone on strike in protest. Miguel is a close friend of Ulpiano, an ex-miner, and has fallen in love with his daughter. Meanwhile, both Miguel's father and brother are policemen and his brother has been summoned from Madrid to put down the strike. Miguel must choose which side he is on and does so with dramatic consequences for all.
