Film details

Ex-colonial, Henry Sitchell returns home to post-war Britain from India for his wife's funeral and to be re-united with his 12-year-old son. In an attempt to find common ground, Henry builds a magnificent model railway, but far from bringing them together it drives them further apart. In an emotional climax, the two are finally forced to confront the pain of their isolation and grief.
