Beethoven (1991)

Film details

A St.Bernard escapes from a van loaded with puppies bound for Dr Varnick's laboratory where they will be used in experiments. The puppy finds its way to the Newton household where it is warmly received by everyone - even, eventually, the father. Named Beethoven, it grows up as part of the family. Varnick re-enters the story when he needs large dogs to test a new type of ammunition on, and he manages to repossess Beethoven. In the end his true motives are revealed and the dogs are freed.
