Nora (Adams) is a single mother trying to raise her two teenage daughters in a trailer-park town in the desert of New Mexico. Rebellious Trudi (Skye) skips school to hang out with boys while daydreamer Shade (Balk) wants nothing but to find a good boyfriend for her mother.

Anders’ moving portrait of three women, each going through a journey of self-discovery, stands out as one of the most underappreciated gems of the Sundance class of 92.
