The Green Man[11/11/90] (1990)

Film details

Adapted from the story by Kingsley Amis. Maurice Allington has the twisted silver object that the ghost of Underhill wants, and arranges to see him in the dining room at midnight. However, Maurice receives a strange visitation in which he is warned that Underhill and the powers he seeks are dangerous, and is advised to use the Church in standing up to the ghost and given a talisman of a silver cross. After being tempted by underhill with erotic visions Maurice stands up to him, but in doing so puts his daughter in danger as Underhill uses his powers to lure her out to the woods and conjure up the "living tree" which nearly kills her. After, Maurice has the hotel and the wood exorcised by the local vicar.
