Lisa Chidell, a 26-year-old freelance counsellor takes on the task of recording the turmoil, heat and population pressure of Calcutta as she witnesses the huge family planning task facing the Marie Stopes clinic there. She records the appalling conditions in the openly-available backstreet abortion clinics and experiences life in the city and rural slums, following the fieldworkers from the Marie Stopes clinic as they advise on and administer health care and family planning.
