Synopsis

Documentary about leaf concentrate, which was developed by mothers in a Mexican village in 1983 to supplement their childrens' diet. It is rich in protein, minerals and vitamin A and without it 40% of children under five would need more food - which isn't available. Leaf concentrate helps avoid the cycle of disease, disability and malnutrition. The programme looks at the life-long work of Carol Martin whose aid agency has set up leaf concentrate projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
