Ann, the daughter of a prison warder is framed by gangster Barney Morse in order to force the parole of a prisoner, Daisy Saunders, who has double- crossed him in a bank robbery. She got herself arrested on purpose in order to get away from him and he needs her to be paroled so that she can be persuaded to tell where she has hidden the stolen money. Daisy and Ann end up sharing a cell and plan to escape in order to try and clear Ann. Daisy is shot by Morse when they go to her apartment, but she has told Ann where the money is hidden. Ann manages to contact her fiancé Bob and tell him what is happening. She then goes to Morse and offers to show him where the money is if he will help clear her name. However, he tries to kill her after she shows him the hiding place, but she is rescued by Bob and the police. Morse is shot and as he lies dying he confesses that he has framed Ann.
