Katy Devoux runs a gambling saloon in British Columbia to finance the education of her daughter at a California finishing school, who believes her mother's income comes from running a high-class inn. A run-in with Jeff Bowman, who cheats in the saloon using loaded dice, causes him to write to Nona Devoux in revenge, requesting her to return home. His girlfriend Alice leaves him, and he tries to frame her in a robbery on the saloon. Alerted by a telegram, Katy sends Tim Reed to meet Nona, and transforms the saloon. Tim learns all the facts from Alice, and in an argument with Bowman he kills him in self-defence. Charged with Bowman's murder he refuses to explain fully in court in order to protect Katy's reputation with her daughter - but Katy tells all to the judge, and Nona and Tim profess their love.
