Dramatised documentary for Army recruits, showing how five reluctant conscripts learn to make the change from civilian to army life and become effective soldiers. The forerunner and inspiration for Carol Reed's feature film THE WAY AHEAD (1944).

Note: The only on-screen credits are for the Army Kinematograph Service and lines reading, "Supervised by an Officer appointed by the General Staff; Produced for the Directorate of Army Kinematography; Approved January 1943; AKS Production".
