The Love Test (1935)

Film details

Romantic comedy in which research chemists are trying to meet a deadline to produce a formula for non-flammable celluloid. One of the team, Thompson, an ambitious young man out for promotion, is not pleased when Mary, a solemn young woman, is awarded the appointment, and stirs up resentments among the men in the lab. He persuades John, who is already in love with Mary, to distract her from her work. When the pair actually do fall in love, however, Thompson takes a u-turn and tells Mary that John is out for her job. Only John, jilted by the outraged Mary, continues to seek the key to the formula.
