In 1960s London, Sir Edward More, a wealthy middle-aged art dealer in a loveless marriage meets and falls in love with cinema usherette Margot Hansen. After leaving his family for Margot, the couple move to a villa in Spain. More suffers the death of his daughter and loses his sight in a car accident, becoming dependent on Margot. But she cruelly exploits her husband when unbeknownst to More she moves her art-forger lover Hervé into their villa.
