Period action film. Sequel (though set earlier) to 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. After narrowly escaping poisoning in a business deal with gangster Lao Che and his sons in a Shanghai nightclub, archaeologist Indiana Jones is asked by the leader of an Indian village to retrieve the sacred Shankara stones which have been stolen along with all the village's children. Accompanied by glamorous nightclub singer Willie Scott (who is easily alarmed) and by his young Chinese friend Short Round, Indy journeys by elephant to Pankot Palace, underneath which he discovers a temple of the murderous Thuggee cult, under the command of the evil Mola Ram. There is also a mine full of enslaved children whom he duly attempts to free.
