Synopsis

Some of the new methods ofteaching primary school children and an insight into the children's response to them. Intended for parents and students training to be teachers. Illustrates the outcome of educational research into the mental processes of young children. Dr Ruth Beard reconstructs some of the experiments which the Swiss psychologist Piaget designed to investigate children's mental development. These include his experiments with children of different age groups: the water volume test, etc. The test results supposedly reveal a child's level of intellectual maturity.
