Synopsis

Clarence Earl Gideon an elderly down and out, is charged with felony and imprisoned for five years, protesting his innocence. He pores over law books and discovers a clause in the 14th amendment that says that a person can't be deprived of his freedom "without due process of law". From the book by Anthony Lewis.
