The Ebony Tower (1984)

Film details

Henry Breasley is an elderly painter - once celebrated, now out of tune with the modern world. Living in retirement in a farmhouse in France, he has embarked on an ambiguous relationship with two young English Art students, Freak and Diana, the Mouse. The precarious peace of this environment is disrupted by the arrival of David Williams, a young artist whose abstract work is precisely the kind that Breasley cannot come to terms with. Williams has been commissioned to prepare the biographical and critical introduction to a book about Breasley - but has as much to learn about himself as the other artist.
