Synopsis

The King of Bohemia comes to Sherlock Holmes, desperate to retrieve an incriminating photograph of him and the beautiful Irene Adler with whom he had an affair, and fearing she will use it to upset his marriage plans with a Swedish princess. Holmes comes to admire the lady, who has beauty, dignity, intelligence, and a beautiful operatic voice, and in spite of his best efforts and disguises is actually out-witted by her. His client is saved from embarrassment though because she is now in love with someone else, whom she has secretly married, so she destroys the photograph of her and the King, no longer needing revenge. Holmes claims a framed photograph of Irene as a fee from his client.
