Stripes (1981)

Film details

Comedy. John Winger has a bad day. He loses, in chronological order, his job as a cab driver, the private car that was his pride and joy, the gorgeous girl who shared his apartment and the apartment itself. His friend Russell Ziskey is no more successful. After a disastrous day at work, he reluctantly concludes he has not the talent for the job. Despairing, the two men walk into a recruiting office and are welcomed by the US Army. At first, it does not seem all bad. New clothes, free haircuts, the chance to meet girls in uniform. Basic training is rough but has its better moments until, suddenly, things take a turn for the worse. The pair have a slight misunderstanding with thier drill sergeant which leads to a series of unwanted complications.
