Documentary about the activites of the Handsworth Cultural Centre in Birmingham, a community based arts project initiated and funded by the Probation Service, which aims to provide an oasis of cultural activities for the area's black community. Features the Kokuma Dance Company and shows the operation of the music recording studio providing facilities for local reggae, disco and punk groups, and the building of an African village near the rear of the Centre. Intended for community workers. Probation officers, schools and colleges.
