The story of a poor boy, who lives by whatever means he can on Bombay's Juhu Beach. He has only two friends - his pet monkey, which performs for the tourists in the big hotels, and a statute of Mahatma Gandhi, to which he confides his thoughts and at whose feet he sleeps at night. The film covers the events of one day in the life of this nameless boy.
