Synopsis

In this film Kenneth Clark examines the aftermath of the French Revolution, traced through the gradual disillusionment of the Romantic movement. The work examined includes the poetry of Byron, the music of Beethoven, the paintings of Géricault, Turner and Delacroix, and the sculpture of Rodin.
