Comedy set over one summer camp for schoolchildren, at North Star Camp. The children play sport and tease each other, while the adults overseeing them are at least as unruly. Led by the rebellious Tripper, these CITs (counselors-in-training) often play pranks on Morty, their supervisor, even removing him on his matress from his cabin while he sleeps and leaving him to wake up in a tree or out on the lake. The CITs and the children go up against the rival Mohawk Camp in an annual 'Olympic' contest involving running, swimming, high jump, a tea cup-balancing race and a sausage-eating contest. Tripper is kind to a lonely boy, Rudy, who has had trouble making friends. Tripper encourages Rudy to enter the cross-country race, confident that he can beat the Mohawk runner.
