Early 1900's. Elinore, a widow with a daughter, moves from Denver to work as a housekeeper at the Wyoming ranch of Clyde Stewart. She and Clyde decide to pool their resources and marry. They endure the misfortune of the harsh and isolated land and learn to love and respect one another and develop a fierce sense of family. Based on the experiences of Elinore Pruitt Stewart and Clyde Stewart, turn of the century pioneers, on their ranch near Burnt Fork, in Wyoming.
