Synopsis

Prince Kasatsky is a handsome aristocrat and eager regimental commander. Upon discovering that his fiancee was the Tsar's mistress, he abandons his brilliant court career and mundane pursuits to seek self-perfection and to find the meaning of life. Eventually he becomes disillusioned with the contemplative life and seeks redemption amongst the simple poor, becoming a famed holy man.

Made to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Tolstoy's birth.
