Drama.Manager Thomas Blount, former manager of a big motor works, has a bitter enmity towards his former employer Richard Waring, who sacked him purely because of his age. There is a fire at the works and Blount rescues the boss's son from the flames. however, he has lost his memory and Blount abandons him and tells Waring that his son is dead. The fire also leaves Waring in straitened circumstances as the works were not insured by the new manager. He is forced to fall back on Blount's hospitality, whose motivation in offering it is to make Waring suffer more. However, the two are eventually reconciled when it emerges that Blount's daughter has secretly married Waring's son, who has now regained his memory.
