Mystery. A sequel to "At the Villa Rose". Boris Waberski hopes to persuade his sister-in-law, wealthy widow Mrs Harlowe, to advance him a loan against the inheritance he expects to receive, unaware that he has been disinherited in favour of his cousin Betty. When Mrs Harlowe dies suddenly and Waberski accuses Betty of murder, solicitor's investigator Jim Frobisher is sent to find out the truth.
