Synopsis

Mary struggles to find happiness during her marriage to a wealthy but cruel farmer. After leaving him, she moves to London with a young squire named Jim but they soon separate. While living in London, Mary encounters an American film producer who persuades her to accept his offer of a film contract. She also falls in love with a surgeon named Gerald Guy who she meets during an air raid but after telling him the story of her past life their relationship ends.
