Believing that he has only a few months to live, Colonel Egerton joins a pleasure party in Egypt, where he falls in love with Dorinne Adams, a young American tourist, who returns his affection. Proceeding up the Nile beyond Wady Halfa, the party is attacked and captured by Brigands secretly allied to Ibrahim, an Egyptian Prince, who has sworn to possess Dorinne, despite her rejection of his proposals. Before being taken prisoner, Egerton has succeeded in signalling, with the aid of a pocket mirror, to the Sudanese Camel Corps., which arrives and rescues the captives just as Ibrahim is about to drag away Dorinne, leaving the men to die. Returning to civilisation Egerton discovers that a blow to the head during the fighting has cured his malady, thus removing the only obstacle to his marrying Dorinne.
