Present day Rome. Michele (an autobiographical figure for Moretti) is the vehicle for illustrating the transition of a generation from the political militancy of the 1960s to a limbo of impotent detachment. The problems of forging a new role for men in a post-68/pre-feminist society, and for Michele, of finding a new cinematic practice.
