Synopsis
A lighthearted survey of hair styles from different parts of the world serves to introduce a simple explanation of the physiology of the hair and scalp. The growth and life-cycle of a follicle and the associated glands and muscles of the scalp are then described. The importance of cleanliness and good grooming in maintaining both health and appearance is emphasised. The film also examines the natural variations of the hair and shows how artificial treatments such as permanent waving, dyeing and bleaching are achieved. Suitable for audiences of 11+ years.
