Young juvenile delinquent Art Simpson is given a second chance by a judge and Edith Doray takes an interest in the boy. She persuades her husband, Jack, to give the youngster an evening job in his pharmacy and all goes well until Art intervenes to prevent his friend Nutty from being bullied by a new boy at school, Bull Butler. Their fighting gets Art into trouble and suspended from school. He and Nutty are then caught in the pharmacy when they go there looking for medicine for Nutty's sick grandmother. The judge orders them not to speak to one another again, and Edith persuades Jack to let Art stay with them when the boy's aunt disowns him. Due to misunderstandings and after the death of Nutty, Art plans to move on and look after Nutty's grandmother. However, Jack is the victim of a hold-up and Art is forced into the car with the crooks. He causes the car to crash however, and the crooks to be caught. The Dorays eventually adopt Art.
