Le Vertige (1926)

Film details


Set in Russia and France, the film opens with the overthrow of the Czar during the 1917 revolution. While angry peasants invade the family home of the Count and Countess Svirska, the count murders the young officer Dimitri with whom his wife Natacha has been having an affair. From revolutionary Petrograd, the count and countess move to the fashionable French Riviera where the grieving countess is strangely attracted to another young man, the 'living image' of Dimitri.
