Up the River (1930)

Two convicts, St. Louis and Dannemora break out of prison but are apprehended again when they fall out. Steve, in prison for manslaughter, falls in love with Judy who is in the women's wing of the prison, having been framed by the crooked salesman Frosby. When Steve is on parole, Frosby seeks him out and tries to blackmail him into helping him con people in the town, threatening to reveal that Steve is an ex-convict. St. Louis and Dannemora learn of what is happening through Judy and they escape from prison again during a show in order to upset Frosby's schemes. They return to prison and go on to play successfully in the annual baseball game.
