The owner of a radio station broadcasts a lurid serial based on an old and scandalous murder case. Martha Carstairs was accused of the crime but exonerated and has gone on to marry and have a family and live a normal life. However, the broadcasts upset her and identify her, nearly causing the break up of the engagement of her daughter Edith to Billy Sims. Martha and her husband Jim commit suicide through shame and pressures put on them by her identification. The radio station manager Sherry Scott, supported by his Secretary, speaks out against the actions of the radio station owner and Edith joins in the condemnation and pressure for change.
