Comedy. Useless Washington, D.C.-based reporter Robert Kittredge is about to be given a scoop by his source Vanescu (whose last scoop won Kittredge a Pullitzer Prize) but Nazi agents on Vanescu's heels chase him away before the story is told. Kittredge and his girlfriend Christina arrange for newspaper secretary Sally to meet Vanescu and take his story in shorthand, but Sally, Vanescu and the shorthand notes all disappear, and when Kittredge investigates he finds himself falling foul of a nest of Nazi spies ready to strike in America.
