Film details


The story of the daughter of a banker's deceased wife and a marquis, with whom she had an affair. When the banker tries to rush the girl into an unwanted marriage and when the banker's underpaid employees kidnap her, she surmounts all vicissitudes with the help of her true father - who dies in the process - and a young American. The banker, having found out the truth about her parentage, disowns her, and the young American marries her. From the novel by Georges Clemenceau.
