Twenty-four hours in the life of a family who live in seclusion on a Baltic island. Karin, recently released from hospital where she was being treated for a mental illness, lives on the island with her doctor husband, her father, and her seventeen-year-old brother, Minus. The brother has sexual problems and is seduced by Karin. She herself is soon haunted again by mysterious voices which announce the coming of God, and asks to be taken back to hospital. She departs with her husband leaving her brother and father alone on the island. The music is Bach's Suite No.2 in D minor for Violin-cello.
