The Old Man and the Sea (1958)

Poverty stricken old fisherman, tended by a lad who loves him, goes to sea to try to break his 84-day spell of bad luck. He hooks a giant marlin and hauls it in after a long battle. But it is eaten by sharks on the way back. The man returns to his shack knowing that though man can be destroyed, he cannot be defeated.
