Synopsis

Using film made in 1942 by Dragoljub Aleksic, the locksmith and acrobat, Makavejev located Aleksic and framed the original footage, which was confiscated after the German occupation, in a documentary framework. In the original story Aleksic is shooting a film about himself in which the beautiful, sad orphan Nada is pushed into the arms of the rich, ugly Mr. Petrovic before her true love, Aleksic, saves her.
