Film details


Hugh Hawkins wants to be a song writer and gets an audition with the BBC. At the audition he meets Margaret, younger sister of famous singer Kay Williams, who wants to be a performer too. Hugh's song is accepted and is broadcast on the radio the following week. Margaret hears it and tells her sister that she is keen on Hugh. Kay tries to discourage the romance as Hugh comes from a poor family in Wapping but this make Margaret more determined to see him. Hugh gets a show at the Crystal Palace but during rehearsals a fire breaks out and he rescues Margaret from the flames. Kay finally concedes that he is a suitable partner for her.
