The Marble Returns (1951)

Film details

The magic marble plays various tricks on a little boy and a man. First of all, the boy is turned into a girl and starts to dance around the room frantically. The man is rather annoyed by the marble's tricks, since he is trying to read a book. Together with the girl, he attempts to capture the marble and to restore piece and quiet. Before they succeed, the magic marble gets to play more tricks on them: it 'dislocates' the man's head and puts it on top of a huge vase; it produces a huge birthday cake that turns into a number of brushes, as the girl and the man are about to have a bite; it dresses the man in a Sherlock Holmes costume every time he passes a specific lamp. In the end the girl is turned into the little boy again. The marble is tamed and peace and quiet are restored.
