John Halifax, Gentleman (1938)

Film details


John Halifax, a homeless waif arrives in Norton Bury in 1790. He eventually becomes a partner in the mill of his employer and a highly respected member of the community. The film also illustrates the industrial disputes and the economic depressions of the early nineteenth century.
