Synopsis
Musical comedy. A young girl becomes the 'belle of the ball' although she was forbidden by her less attractive guardian stepsister from going. Their cousin appears with her off-and-on fiance. Both sisters fall for the same man and use the fiance in a ruse to catch him. By the film's end, though, everything is straightened out. After Alan Ladd achieved fame with his work in the 1940s, the film was re-released as THE RIGHT MAN. The film features several musical numbers: "Symphony of love" based on a themes of Tchaikowsky; "La ci darem la mano" from Don Giovanni by Mozart; "I dream of Jeanie" (sic) by Stephen Foster; and "I love thee" by Edvard Grieg.
