Based on the musical play by Jerry Herman (music and lyrics) and Michael Stewart (book), from the play `The Matchmaker' by Thornton Wilder. Musical about a young widow called Dolly whose profession is that of a matchmaker. She is engaged by a miserly, unmarried merchant, to take charge of his niece, and stop her from marrying a penniless young artist. The merchant later mends his ways and agrees to his niece's marriage with the artist and gets himself married to Dolly.
