Synopsis
Harry Wade attains a booking for his dance band at a high-class hotel, where he meets Princess Paula of the European state of Monrovia. Harry had posed as a hotel waiter in order to meet her, but she sees through his ruse when she sees him performing in the ballroom. They continue to meet while she is staying in London and fall in love. When her uncle, the Duke of Monrovia, finds out about the relationship he orders her to return home as she is engaged to be married to Count Rudolf. Paula leaves a note for Harry asking him to write to her. However, Paula's chaperone tears up the letter and leaves another in its place saying that she, Paula, was only fooling with Harry and that she never wants to see him again. When Harry never writes to her, Paula thinks that he has abandoned her. The lovelorn Harry takes his band on a world tour where they eventually end up in Monrovia, the deception of the chaperone is uncovered, and Harry and Paula, together with the band, make good their escape in an airplane.
