Synopsis
Based on the BBC radio series with Carroll Levis searching for new talent. As Levis moves around the country auditioning talent, Jim Pike, trying to evade the police, joins as a stage hand, and Schwitzer and Spinelli, manufacturers of cheese and spaghetti respectively, vie with each other to become the show's sponsor. Alfredo, a waiter, also continually tries to get a spot on the show by approaching Levis at every opportunity, as does a young girl in hospital after being hit by a car while on her way to an earlier audition. Levis finally resolves the sponsor problem by suggesting a combined spaghetti and cheese hour.
